This engraving is the masterful work of the naturalist Charles de Clarac. He brought together all of his observational drawings to create a composition that is as narrative as it is documentary. Indeed, the distribution of plants is not trivial. It is a precise study of their location according to the hydrometry and the luminosity of the place, which creates an image very close to reality.
What we like is the beauty and richness of the details that we constantly rediscover.
